As a child, my family moved around quite a bit, but settled for many years in Louisiana. That is where I spent most of my childhood. My parents raised my brothers and me in a Christian home. I was very interested in being “good” and pleasing God. I felt like it was the right thing to do, but it certainly never felt like I was getting close to achieving that goal. The concept of having a relationship with Jesus seemed like a very abstract concept and I had no idea how to do that! As I grew up, my search for God ebbed and flowed, but when life really got tough, I knew that I was powerless to help myself. I began reading the Bible and earnestly searching. To my amazement, the words leapt off of the pages and I recognized that I was reading THE TRUTH!
I understood why Scripture is said to be “alive”. That moment sparked a deepening of my journey to getting to know Jesus, and to know that my identity, my hope, my life, my security is in HIM only! Now I feel like my relationship with Jesus is the most natural, fulfilling part of my life.
I moved to South Carolina after graduating from LSU and some post-graduate studies. I worked as a probation officer and met a wonderful Christian co-worker, and future husband there. After a couple of years of dating, we were married. Gregg and I have now been married for over 26 years and have 3 beautiful children. We love living in Mt. Pleasant and being near the beach and most of our extended family. We most enjoy the food, the beauty of nature and the amazing people!
