Visit us on Sunday

Welcome to FBC Mt. Pleasant

We know that visiting a new church can be overwhelming, which is why we'd love to answer some potential questions you may have. Here are some things you can expect when you visit us on a Sunday morning.

Here are some things you can expect when you visit us on a Sunday morning.

  • If you are joining us for our 8:30 or 11:00 service, we'd invite you to park closer to the front of our property near the Sanctuary where the services are held weekly.

  • Our service is held at 10:30am. You are welcome to arrive early to meet fellow attenders, get connected, and find seats. We also have LifeGroups that meet before the service at 9:15am.

If you have children, we encourage you to arrive 15 minutes early in order to check your kids into our children's program. If you have a 1st-5th grader, we encourage you to have your children join you in the service as we place a high value on family worship! You can find more information about our Children's Ministry here.

  • Dress comfortably. Most who attend FBC lean toward business casual, though you can find anything from jeans and a t-shirt to suits and bow ties.

  • Music - The music we sing at FBC is a blend of old and new. We love the doctrinally rich hymns of the sixteenth century and we find blessing in the choruses of the twenty-first. We strongly prefer congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing praise to God with one voice, over performed music, which tends to spotlight the abilities of some while encouraging passivity in the rest.

Body of Service - Our services formally begin at 10:30am, led most often by our lead pastor or one of our elders. During those times, we sing several songs, offer prayers of praise and confession to God, hear Scripture read, and give our offerings and tithes.

Sermons - Preaching at FBC is generally expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Sermons usually last around forty minutes and are packed with material for reflection. All preaching is driven by the gospel, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • Our Children's Ministry offers age-appropriate classes for children on Sunday morning during each of the service times and the LifeGroup hour.

Children 6 years old and up are encouraged to attend service with their families. However, during the 9:15 LifeGroup hour there is an age-appropriate class available for them in the Kids Village.

  • You can enter the Little Village from the double doors at the back right corner of the church. Once inside, our wonderful volunteers will help you get your child checked in and directed to a classroom.

  • We'd love to answer any other questions you have! Please feel free to email us at info@fbcmtpleasant.org.
