I grew up mostly in Jacksonville, Florida. My family moved to Mt. Pleasant when I was 13 years old. I went to middle school here and graduated from Moultrie High School. After high school I received a degree from MUSC College of Health Sciences. I worked for a local Mt. Pleasant dentist for over 11 years.
My family and I were members of Hibben United Methodist Church. While away at a summer church camp at the age of 15, I received Christ into my life. While I understood that I was a sinner and Christ died for me I did not understand what a personal relationship with Christ meant. I was a follower at this time but not a fully devoted follower of Christ. That would come a little later in my spiritual journey. I would learn that God has a special plan for me, Jeremiah 29:11. And how grateful I am for HIS love.
I married a wonderful local young man Artie Crisp from James Island. We were married in Hibben Methodist church and moved to James Island. We have 2 wonderful sons and three beautiful grandchildren. I started attending and later joined my husband’s Baptist church. I was a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School director. I later joined the church staff as the Children’s Ministry Director, and was the church administrator. I was on staff there for 13 years before coming “home” to First Baptist Mt. Pleasant.
God has given me this gift of loving and working with children. I take seriously the privilege and responsibility of providing quality Bible-teaching. “The gospel message changes everything: heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel.”
