Charlene Yarborough - Church Pianist

Church Pianist

Charlene

Yarborough

I was born and raised in Florence, SC. My parents and grandparents were all strong Christians and very active in the church. I accepted Christ at the age of eight and enjoyed being in Sunday school, Training union, GA’s and children’s choir. As a youth, maybe around sixteen, I rededicated my life because I felt more aware of what it meant to walk in faith daily. After high school I graduated from Coker College with a degree in Piano performance. I attended Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and during two summers at Hart School of Music in Hartford Connecticut where I worked on my Masters. In 1979 I married my husband Dewey and we were blessed with three boys. We both moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1988 and have been members at First Baptist since that time. I have been the pianist at FBC for 37 years and have taught children’s choir and handbells for about 20 years. I feel so grateful to be doing what I love and what I was created to do.
